Lady of Shanghai, and Shanghai Express were film greats of the 1930's and 1940's, with some of our favorite leading ladies such as Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, and Chinese pre-code princess Anna May Wong. Myrna Loy looked exceptionally beautiful in the 1931 film, "Mask of Fu Manchu," donning an Asian headdress of antique gold. Seductive femme fetales and murder mysteries were a common theme among the film noir era of Old Hollywood. Oriental influence was seen in these films and fashion of the 1940's in beautiful forms, blending Asian inspiration and Art Deco.
